Marty Hall's Java Programming Resources. A very useful resource that includes pointers to a wealth of Java resources, including tutorials and sample code. Information on obtaining the latest releases of the JDK and Java enabled browsers for a range of platforms can be found here.
Cay Horstmann's Core Java Web page. Core Java was one of the best early books on Java, written for experienced programmers.
Gamelan styles itself as the official directory for Java. Many Java applets can be found here.
