Aman Tuleyev


Aman-geldy Moldagaziyevich Tuleyev was born in Krasnovodsk, Turkmenistan, in 1944. He graduated from Novosibirsk Railroad Engineering Institute, worked in transportation. From March 1990 to October 1993 he was speaker of Kemerovo Region Soviet. In 1991, Tuleyev ran for president of Russia, finished fifth. Since April, 1994, Aman Tuleyev has served as speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Kemerovo Region. Tuleyev is a member of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. He promised to withdraw his candidacy and endorse Gennady Zyuganov, and so he did on June 8.
